Pulse on Quality: Are Leaders and Frontline Teams Aligned?

Ease.io recently commissioned an independent survey of 1,000 manufacturing professionals, including 500 frontline operators/workers and 500 managers, to better understand how quality is perceived: its value, its implementation, and its role in daily decision-making.

Why? Because when frontline teams and leadership operate from different realities, even the best strategies will fall short, resulting in higher costs, workforce retention issues, a weak culture of quality, and more.

Key findings from this new industry report include:

  • The Quality Culture Gap is Real: While the majority of managers (92%) view their company’s quality culture favorably, 1 in 4 frontline workers don’t believe or don’t know if their company has a positive quality culture.
  • Leadership is More Confident in Quality Management Vs Workers: Nearly half (47%) of frontline workers lack a strong understanding of their company’s quality management protocols and tools. In contrast, 77% of managers said they understand “very well.”
  • Quality Issues are Often Overlooked: Nearly half (49%) of frontline operators have experienced quality issues being ignored or covered up.
